Apparently, they did so because they felt that the US readers might not know of the legend of the philosopher's Stone. They also changed little things in the US version of the book. "Lifts" were changed to "elevators", "car park" to "parking lot", "rubbish bin" to "garbage can". I have also read that they changed "mum" to "mom" and "jumper" to "sweater" in the US version.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6851940520473763605.post-89740928697480586582010-08-13T14:58:38.678-04:002010-08-13T14:58:38.678-04:00I think I'll look into those books too :) Abou...I think I'll look into those books too :) About the Harry Potter Sorcerer/Philosopher thing, maybe you're reading the British version? I thought they called in the Philosopher's Stone, because I just reread some of the books and I swear they called it the Sorcerer's Stone? I could be wrong, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6851940520473763605.post-5384528007189885342010-08-13T14:22:47.475-04:002010-08-13T14:22:47.475-04:00That book sounds quite intesting.
