WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!
Wow, this day has finally come. It took me a long time but it's here. I procrastinated the last bit too in order to start some savings. I finaly paid off that pesky family loan ;) I also paid off my credit card and phone bill today so I'm literally debt-free. However I also have very few assets. An education, a bit of savings, an old car, and a few personal items.
So now what??
With very little work this summer I think I will try to keep the spending to a minimum. But I also want to enjoy myself this summer but I won't go overboard. I think want to focus on the TFSA and start RRSPs. Any other suggestions??
WooooooHoooooooo!!!!!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic.Well done :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats. Now the question is, will debt-free living be a way of life for you? I hope so. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would definately start contributing more to the RRSPs and also since you noted you have an older car, I would maybe start a car fund because you may need a new one soon?
ReplyDeleteHappy dance!!! Congratulations! I like hklover's suggestion of starting a car fund.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I would start saving half and half cash and retirement funds, personally.
ReplyDeleteNICE! That's awesome! Try to enjoy this moment before you get into the throws of the next step!
ReplyDeleteYEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteMelissa I hope being debt-free will be a way of life for me. I will try hard to keep it this way.
I like the suggestions of a car fund. I am going to start that soon. Hopefully mine still has a couple of years left in it, but you never know!
YAY! Congrats! You worked so hrd at it too. :) Way to go.
ReplyDeletewow, congratulations. It seems like you just started your blog not to long ago too! I'm so so impressed. Once you get back to work - what do you think you'll do with all your 'extra' cash??
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteI think once I get back to work I will focus on a car fund, add more to TFSA, start RRSP. I also have been looking into volunteer teaching overseas or in South America. Not sure if it will happen or not yet but maybe start a fund toward that. It would be an amazing experience, and I have always wanted to do something to help others. We will see, just an idea I have had lately. I also want to start a house fund like you have Jessie, I want to move out and need to start saving for that!
